: K . S . R e - [Redux]

K. S. Re- is a science-oriented base game overhaul that creates a more comprehensive science simulation with increased realism and opportunities for experimentation and discovery.

The mod includes 3 categories of changes -

• unreleased stock content e.g. ISRU, secondary missions, milestones
• rebalanced features e.g. attitude control, tech tree, propellants
• new mechanics e.g. non-player agencies, ignition failure, kerbal life

The project has been in development for several years and is currently playable on the KSP2 Redux project.

Feature Preview

• Gamified Realism: a range of changes make spaceflight more realistic and challenging, at times similar to the Realism Overhaul mod in KSP, but more gamified and accessible for players of all skill levels. Physics remain unchanged, propellants and propulsion are redesigned, a new approach to VAB assembly uses single fuel switchable tanks, plus variable part damage and ISRU.
• Kerbal Life: life support simulation with physical and psychological damage, kerbal relationships, personalities and non-player agencies
• Rocket Science: expanded science system with new sources, specialization and tech prerequisites, repeatable experiments with time decay, new tech tree and experiment records
• Career Revival [WIP]: ksp career gameplay restoration (wip), boat docks opening, facility progression, milestones, new missions tree and optional sci-fi/horror story

Installation

Install KSP2 Redux then extract the latest download to Redux directory

Setup

Exploration mode: (recommended) start a new game for the total campaign overhaul with integrated progressive tutorial.

Sandbox mode: Existing saves are supported if vessels are recovered.

Known Issues

• "flea" bug: resizing glitches when placing XS "flea" SRB in the VAB. usually resolves on launch, when attaching new parts, or using simpler designs
• missing animations for eva repairs, drilling & scanners
• placeholder art
• imperfect localizations
