The sepatron is a very useful method to separate rocket stages, however the hot exhaust gases can be the cause of a sudden, spontaneous disassembly. A fact which was recognised by a clever Kerbal engineer. He came up with the separon, a kind of sepatron which uses rcs fuel instead of solid fuel. Bad tongues have claimed that the engineer made several alignment errors with attached sepatrons, resulting in somewhat spectacular fireworks over the launchpad. The invented separon comes with a small tank with 5 liters of rcs fuel. However, the separon is highly parasitical in nature, i.e. it will consume the contents of all attached rcs tanks.
